I bought the ProGrip for my trip to Europe. While attached, it makes the iphone 14 Pro and grip rather long ) so I had to buy a bag that I could fit it into it as well. I enjoyed using the grip as I am a long-time camera user, but one item needed to be changed. The little rubber cover for the sync/attachment plug located on the top of the grip, I would constantly find had flipped up and was hanging open. I believe the little tab is bent up just enough that it catches and pops open. Think this design needs to be reworked as it can easily get ripped off if I'm not diligent in checking each time I go to use it.
I haven't had this familiar feeling of using a phone grip for taking shots since the LG G6 camera module. That being said, the ergonomics made it really feel close to holding a DSLR camera. With the addition of a swing grip, wireless charging and let's not forget, acting as a stand as well really eases up things. While it does not completely eliminate the shakiness when taking shots, it lessens the struggle of pressing the shutter button of the phone camera due to the shutter button of the grip.
My observation however is that while the design of the grip gives a feel like handling a DSLR, it would have been nice if the shutter button also had a half-stop press feature for focusing before firing away and it could also have benefitted in providing cases for other flagship smartphones that have great cameras.
While the pricing may give us buyers a pause, it still is a nice accessory for camera-centered smartphone owners especially when wanting to get those precious moments for their photos.
Great accessory for your smartphone to take steady pictures and video. Love the grip strap for stability. Photo below shot with Pro Grip.
This Invention Is Genius And I Love It! Shipping Was Fast Also!
I shot an event with low light recently. I used the shiftcam ProGrip with my iphone 14 Pro Max. It gives you illusion of taking pics with a DSLR when holding it. No one thought a thing about me using a phone for a camera! It was nice to stabilizing while shooting video on the move.
